SLANKER, LAWRENCE - Lawrence H. (Hot) Slanker, 77, 6845 Walnut Street in Brandt, died on Monday, September 17 at Stouder Hospital. He had been ill over three years, but was hospitalized, prior to his death, just one week. Born in Bethel Township, he was the son of the late William T. and Clara Williams Slanker. He retired in 1960 from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a civilian employee. Survivors include his wife, Estella; three sons, Robert of New Carlisle and Kenneth and James of Dayton; two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Helen) Mann of Bethel Township and Mrs. Marvin (Lou) Morris of New Carlisle; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Houghton and Mrs. Emma Cain, both of Dayton. The Reverend Forest Donley, pastor of the Brandt United Methodist Church, will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Trostel-Chapman Funeral Home in New Carlisle. Burial will be in the New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
