BORCHERS, HARRY W. - Harry W. Borchers, age 60, of 325 Bayonne Dr., Vandalia died Tuesday following heart surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. He was the son of Charles and Clara Borchers, both deceased. He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Smith, sister of Donald Smith of Tipp City. Other survivors include two sons, Dr. James C. Borchers and William S. Borchers of Vandalia; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Matthews, Jr. of Tennessee; five grandchildren; and one brother, Paul E. of Vandalia, another brother is deceased. Borchers was a member of the United Methodist Church of Vandalia, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Antioch Temple. He was a past president of the Vandalia Chamber of Commerce. Services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the Morton Funeral Home in Vandalia. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Heart Fund.
