DARKE CO. FARMER KILLED BY TRACTOR
Funeral services for Leonard F. Besecker, 76 of Rt. 2, Arcanum,
brother of Mrs. Onda Davis of Covington, will be held at 2 pm Saturday in the
Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum. Burial will be in Abbottsville Cemetery.
Mr. Besecker was killed Wednesday as his tractor overturned on Delisle-Fourman
Road, a mile and a half west of the Miami-Darke County line. Death resulted
from a crushed chest, when he was pinned beneath the tractor as it veered onto
the shoulder of the road and rolled in a ditch.
A truck driver, Paul Earhart of Pleasant Hill, witnessed the accident and
summoned help.
He was born on the farm where he lived in Franklin Township, Darke County.
Also, surviving is his wife, Ethel, three sons, Verl, Denver and Delver of Rt 2
Arcanum; two daughters, Mrs. W. D. Crouse, Rt. 2 Arcanum and Mrs. Charles Morris
of Rt. 2, Greenville; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother
Dale of Rt. 3, Arcanum and another sister, Mrs. Donna Heller of Dayton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-5 and 7-9 pm Friday.
