DAVIS, ISAAC -
The following clipped from the Springfield, Mass. Daily Union of
the 8th, inst. records the death of a former citizen of this place and Piqua
Mr. Isaac Davis, who was well and favorably known in Miami County: Mr. Isaac
Davis, father-in-law of George O. Kingsbury of this city, who died at the
residence of Mr. Kingsbury, on Sunday last of heart disease, had been ill
for some time, but was confined to his bed but a few days. Mr. Davis was
born in West Virginia but lived for many years in Ohio, where he was well
known as a hotel landlord, and was highly respected by all who knew him. He
was so cordial and attentive to the guests as to make his house the favorite
place of resort of travelers. He was honest and temperate to all his
habits, and was the center of a large circle of relations, who were deeply
attached by him and who are now almost overwhelmed by his loss. Mr. Davis
has resided in Springfield about four years. His funeral will be attended
at the residence of Mrs. Kingsbury, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
