AYER, DR. JAS. C. - Dr. Jas. C. Ayer, the celebrated patent medicine man in Lowell, Mass., died last Wednesday night, of softening of the brain, aged about sixty years.  Dr. Ayer was taken to a private insane Asylum a couple of years ago, at which place he remained until his death.
