GABRIEL, BESSIE - A SAD AFFLICTION - Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel, of this place, met with a sad affliction last Sunday in the death of their three-year-old daughter, Bessie. Mr. Gabriel was out of town on business and did not return until Sabbath evening, when he found his bright little daughter dead. The child was seized with an attack of membraneous croup Thursday night of last week, but the disease seemed to yield at once to treatment, and Friday she seemed quite well, and was unusually lively. Friday night, however, she was taken down again and grew worse rapidly, the disease causing her death Sunday afternoon. Her funeral took place Tuesday. Bessie was a sweet child, the idol of a fond mother and father, and was greatly loved by a large number of friends.
