SILER, MRS. MATILDA
- On Monday, August 13, 1877, Mrs. Matilda Siler,
daughter of Rev. Willis Merritt, pastor of the Zion Baptist Church of Troy,
aged 23 years, 10 months and 22 days. The deceased was a loving daughter,
good wife and dearly esteemed by a large circle of friends. Through months
of patient suffering she showed her supreme faith in the power of Christ to
heal and save, and when death came she trustingly confided
herself to the all, embracing arms of the gentle Savior. Rev. W. H. Gibson
and Rev. P. M. Weddell conducted the funeral services, to the presence of a
large concourse of friends. M.
