BROWN, DANIEL - At his residence, in this vicinity, Monday afternoon last, after an illness of several months (cancer in the arm) but from which he was confined to his room only a few weeks, Mr. Daniel Brown, in the 69th year of his age. Mr. Brown was a son of Arnold Brown, formerly of Gloucester, Rhode Island, and came to this county in 1837. He was one of our most enterprising and industrious citizens and did much, during his residence here to improve Troy and advance its interests--continuing his labors in this respect up to within a few weeks of his death. He was always a friend of those in need of friends.
