SAYERS, SAMUEL - An accident, which resulted fatally occurred a few miles north-west of this village on Monday afternoon.  Mr. Samuel Sayers, an aged and respected resident of Brown township, was engaged in getting gravel from a pit not far from his house, when the bank caved in and frightened his team.  In endeavoring to check the horses, Mr. Sayers was thrown to the ground and the heavy wagon crushed his chest and broke the skull.  He lingered until Tuesday morning, when he expired.  He was an old resident of the county and well known throughout its area.  We believe he was about sixty-five years of age, and leaves a wife and seven children.  The funeral took place on Thursday, and was very largely attended.

SAYERS, SAMUEL - A sad accident occurred near Fletcher on Monday, which resulted in the death of Mr. Samuel Sayers, one of the wealthiest and most prominent farmers of Brown township.  While loading a wagon in a gravel pit his team became frightened by the caving of the bank and started to run away.  In endeavoring to stop them, Mr. Sayers was thrown under the wheels, one of which passed over his head, crushing his skull.  He lingered until the following morning, when he expired.
