STEIL, ADAM - A painful sensation was felt throughout our entire
community, on Thursday, by the announcement of the death of Mr. Adam Steil,
early that morning. Although he had been reported dangerously ill for
several days previous, hopes had been entertained that he might recover.
The disease--inflammation of the lungs, we believe--had taken so firm a hold
upon him, however, as to baffle all the skill of the best medical attendants.
Mr. Steil was about 45 years of age, and one of our most prominent and
enterprising merchants. He was also a liberal, popular, and valuable
citizen in various respects, and will be a serious loss to our community.
The funeral of Mr. Steil will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
