ELLIOTT, WILLIAM ESQ. - In the death of William Elliott, Esq., which took place at the residence of Mr. Foster, his son-in-law, in Piqua, on Tuesday morning last, that city has lost one of its oldest and most noted citizens.  Mr. Elliott came to Piqua between forty and fifty years ago.  He was a man of considerable cultivation, a remarkably systematic business man, and during his life filled more town and township offices, than any other man, we presume, ever has in the county.  He was a man of singular temperament, temper, and disposition--one of the most peculiar men, in some respects, we ever knew.  He had suffered from disease more than twenty years and so far succeeded resisting it past his 76th year.
