KOESTAR, MARTIN - A Terrible Accident - Two Men Instantly Killed at Statler's Quarry - On Tuesday forenoon a terrible accident occurred at D. C. Statler's quarry, one and a half miles south of this city on the Troy pike, by which two workmen, Martin Koestar and Geo. Washing, were almost instantly killed.  The accident occurred by the caving in of the embankment at which they were at work and crushing them almost without a moment's warning.  The embankment is said to be about ten or twelve feet high and was being stripped to the rock to facilitate operations in the Spring.  The bodies of the deceased after being uncovered of the immense amount of earth thrown upon them were found horribly crushed and bruised, and gave evidence that they were instantly killed.  The remains of the two men were brought to their homes in this city to their grief stricken families.  This accident has caused a sad calamity to two families in taking from them almost instantly their main support.  They certainly should have the sympathies of our citizens in this affliction.  Piqua Journal
