DAVIS, MR. AND MRS. JOHN - Murder and Suicide - A German named John Davis, a blacksmith who lived in the Miami Valley, a few miles below Piqua, committed suicide, on Monday morning last, by shooting himself, after having murdered his wife. The party had long lived unhappily together. It is reported that the wife left another husband in Germany, and Davis demanded she should leave him and return to her first love, which she refused to do, unless one half of the property of their joint accumulation were set off to her. The affair caused great excitement in the neighborhood.
