STALEY, SAMUEL C. - Died in Tippecanoe City, Ohio, on Thursday, September 22d, 1870, Samuel C. Staley, aged 43 years and 11 days. To the deceased the month of September was a very eventful one: he was born on the 11th, married on the 21st, and died on the 22d. He possessed an investigating mind, and had made fair intellectual attainments. At the time of his death he was a member of the Board of Examiners for our public schools. He was deprived for some years by the nature of his disease, from attending church, and consequently never made a public profession of religion; but seemed to take great pleasure in the study of the Scriptures. He has left a wife and two children, a mother, and a large circle of relatives to mourn their loss. M.
