While photographing tomb stones in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua I found a military style headstone for “W. Beckert 108^th Ohio Vol. Inf.” It is almost unreadable. I do not find this grave listed in Miami County , Ohio Genealogical Association Researchers web site for the Forest Hill Cemetery . I went to the cemetery manager and he got out an old book from the Catholic Church for the time when they kept record of the Catholic area of the cemetery. He found a sketch of that area and an entry for W. Beckert in St. Joseph Section, Lot 29. There did not seem to be a date. This individual was a GGgrandfather to my wife. As such I knew of him as Wendelin Beckert from his civil war records and found his grave amid other of his family graves. If you wish to verify this, the cemetery manager said he will confirm upon your inquiry.
