Reuben Miller; a veteran of the Civil War, died at the Dayton Soldiers’ Home at 11 o’clock Thursday morning, according to word received Friday by his sons, George and William Miller, of this city.

Three weeks ago Thursday he was removed from his home in this city to the Dayton Soldiers’ Home, with the hope that he might improve but he steadily declined until death came.  Mr. Miller was born in Ohio, January 19, 1844, and for four years he served in Company A, 71st Regiment, O.V.I.   Though he took part in many hard fought battles he was never wounded but he was captured and lay in prison for some time.  He was a member of Coleman Post, G.A.R.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, George and William Miller, of Troy, A daughter, Mrs. Mary Logan, of Woodstown, N.J., three brothers, Jonas Miller, of New Bremen, William Miller, of Centerburg, Floyd Miller, of Troy, and a half sister, Mrs. J. Sohllenbarger, of Piqua.
