Collins, Oscar Piqua Leader Dispatch 1/7/1909 Company F 71st OVI
Oscar Collins died last evening at his home in Ellerman Street. He had been ill about nine weeks, suffering from heart trouble. His condition had been serious for several days and his death was not unexpected.
Oscar Collins had been a resident of Piqua a number of years. He celebrated his 76th birthday on November 13 last. He was a veteran of the civil war, serving in company. Seventy-first O.V.I. He was a member of Alexander-Mitchel post G.A.R., and will be buried by the members of the post. He leaves a widow and several children.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock. The service will be held at the Grace M.E. church and will be conducted by Dr. H. E. Armacost. Interment will be in Forest Hill cemetery.
