Eidemiller, Nicholas Troy Times1862 Company F 71st OVI
It is our painful duty to record the death of another soldier. Lieut. Eidemiller died at the Third St. Hospital in Cincinnati last Friday evening. From the breaking out of hostilities Lieut. Eidemiller was active in rendering assistance to the country of his adoption. He endeavored to raise a company for the three months service but could not get it filled in time to have it accepted. Subsequently he joined the 71st regiment, and faithfully discharged his duties, claiming no exceptions of account of age. At the battle of Pittsburg he fought bravely whatever others may have done. He was a good citizen as well as a brave soldier, and there is a heartfelt sorrow in our community at his loss. His funeral will taek place at the Lutheran Church, on Sabbath next at 2 o’clock P.M.
