John W. Meredith John W. Meredith John was born 1761 in Delaware state. He was a shoemaker who after the Revilution War received a bounty land grant for Miami County Ohio land. He died in the fall of 1844 and is buried in The Roas Hill Cemetery, Troy Ohio. He enlisted as a private at Dover Delaware in 1777, and was with General Horatio Gates at Saratoga and was also in the battle Cowspen while serving in a Delaware Regiment. Return to the |
