Joseph McCorkle Joseph McCorkle 1753-1828 Joseph was born in North Carolina and came to Miami County Ohio in the fall of 1805, settling on the west bank of The Great Miami River, in section 20, Washington Township, just below the old Indian town of Piqua. He served as a Miami County Commissioner from 1807-1808. Joseph died in 1828 and war burried in Lower Graveyard and later moved into the Forrest Hill Cemetery. He was a soldier in North Carolina and later served in The War of 1812 as a Major. Return to the |
