was born in Northhampton County Pennsylvania. He enlisted in 1781 and served as a private in Captain Smith's Company,  Colonel Lindemust's Regiment of Pennsylvania Line.  He also fought in the War of 1812. He died in Montgomery County Ohio in 1840, and was buried in Bethel Cemetery, Miami County Ohio.
