COFFEE AND DONUTS

 

The Miami Valley Veterans Museum will be holding its free coffee and doughnuts event on October 2, 2013.  This event is for all veterans and is held at the museum, 107 W. Main St., Troy, in the second floor dining facilities of the Mason Lodge building.  The hours are 9-11 a.m.  Come and meet the men and women that fought for, and are still fighting for our freedoms.  Come show your support for their sacrifices.  A Representative from the  VA  will be in attendance.

The Troy Historical Society Programs

 

The following is a list of upcoming programs for the 2013-2014 year
 
November 21 - Gretchen Hawk, Executive Director of the WACO Historical Society will speak on the subject "Women of WACO", delving into the rich history of the women of flight.
 
January 16 - To Be Announced - (We may have a presentation for the kick-off of Troy's bicentennial, but we do not have a speaker.)
 
March 20 -  Patrick Hansford, a local architect, will speak on the topic "The Pretzinger Family of Architects".   The Pretzinger family designed many buildings in Troy.  Mr. Hansford is a Pretzinger family friend and is very knowledgeable about Troy architecture.

TROY MUSEUM OF HISTORY

 

The Museum of Troy History, 124 E. Water St., is closed until April.  If you are interested in a tour during the winter, call Terry Purke for a showing. When the Museum opens in April it is open every Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.  While general admission is free, there is a charge to non-members of $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children for the special programs that we will be hosting throughout the year.
