SWISHER, CAROLYN FAYE - McGINNIS, KEITH EDWARD
Carolyn Faye Swisher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph A. Swisher of Dayton, and Keith Edward McGinnis, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas McGinnis, 112 North Seventh street, were married on Saturday, June 26 in the Tipp City United Methodist church. The Reverend Fred Mark officiated at the wedding service at 7:30 p.m. before an altar decorated with arrangements of gladioli, mums and apricot carnations. Tall tapers marked the bridal aisle. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a formal gown of satapeau, the empire bodice featuring a Venice lace edged sheet yoke with a manderin collar and full bishop sleeves adorned by wide lace trimmed cuffs. Motifs of chantilly lace, highlighted with pearls, accented the sleeves and bodice. The waistline was marked with the same lace which trimmed the demi bell skirt. A mantilla in cathedral length was also edged with Venice lace. She carried a cascade of white roses, stephanotis and baby's breath. Mrs. Noel McGinnis was the matron of honor, and the bridesmaids were Connie Palsgrove of Vandalia, Mary Jo Williams of Monroe and Donna Alford of Hamilton. They were gowned alike in green and white striped dresses with small designs of flowers. Long bell shaped skirts were topped with bodices which had short puffed sleeves and stand up collars. Their headpieces were apricot demi hats, and they carried cascade arrangements of apricot carnations. Noel McGinnis, brother of the groom, was the best man. The ushers were Ralph Swisher Jr. and Kenneth Swisher, brothers of the bride, of Vandalia; and Stan Evan of Tipp City. Mrs. Swisher wore a yellow crepe dress with a dress length jacket of yellow lace and crepe. Her corsage was a white orchid. The mother of the groom chose a street length dress of light blue powder chiffon with white accessories. She, too, wore a white orchid. A reception followed the ceremony and was held in the social room of the church. Susan Moone was in charge of the guest book. The bride is a graduate of Vandalia-Butler high school and of Miami Valley school of nursing. She is employed as a graduate nurse at the Veterans' Administration hospital. The groom graduated from Tippecanoe high school. He attended the University of Cincinnati and Wright State university. The couple are at home at 620 Redwood avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45405.
