BAREFOOT, DEBORAH JEAN - Tiered candelabra and arrangements
of yellow gladioli, orchid asters and baby's breath flanked the altar at
the Sugar Grove Bible church for the wedding on Friday, June 23 of Deborah Jean
Barefoot and John Emory Cleveland III. The Reverend I. B. Shafer
officiated at the vows at 7:30 p.m. following a presentation of nuptial music by
Mrs. J. L. Ferrell, the organist. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Walter W. Barefoot, 2382 Ste Rte 571. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Cleveland
Jr., 1591 Burch court in Troy, are the parents of the groom. Given in
marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white bridal satin with an
overlay of white chifton. The fitted waist, hemline, the cuffs and the
collar were edged with white galoon lace, interlaced with lavender ribbon.
The long puffed sleeves were trimmed with chantilly lace. Her veil was a
train length mantilla, edged with chantilly lace, and she carried a white Bible
surmounted with an orchid with ribbon streamers. Patricia Howard of Tipp
City was the maid of honor; Pat Strouple of Freedom, Pa., the bridesmaid; and
Dawn Shrum of Troy, a junior bridesmaid. The attendants wore dresses in
empire style with the skirts of lilac organza over lilac satin. The fitted
bodices of white organza over white satin had lilac flowers and ribbon trim
accenting the high collar, cuffs of the full sleeves and the empire waistlines.
Lawrence Shrum of Troy, brother-in-law of the groom, was his best man. The
ushers were Bill Barefoot, brothers of the bride; Ernest Kistler of Troy and
Howard Manny of Wilmington, brothers-in-law of the groom. The mother of
the bride chose a dress of mint green polyester with long sheer sleeves and with
beige accessories. Her corsage was of yellow roses and carnations.
The mother of the groom wore a dress of rose lace with black patent accessories.
She had a corsage of pink carnations and lavender roses. A reception for
the 250 guests was held in the church parlors with Mrs. Bruce Littler, Mrs.
Thomas Pearson and Mrs. Tom Davis as the hostesses. Out-of-town guests
attended the wedding from Florida and Pennsylvania. The bride graduated
from Tippecanoe high school and is currently a senior at Wright State
university. The groom attended Tusculum college in Tennessee and Otterbein
college, Ohio. He is employed by the General Telephone company.
After a wedding trip to Cumberland lake, the couple are at home at 1455 Ste Rte
571 West.

SPECHT, MARK ELLIOTT - Dr. David L. Hadden officiated at the double ring
ceremony which united in marriage Sharon Lee Suerdieck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence J. Suerdieck, 4280 Troy street, Dayton, and Mark Elliott Specht, son of
Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Specht, 450 Lawnview avenue, Springfield. White
standing baskets of white gladioli, yellow Killium daisies and pink pom poms,
and candelabra decorated the sanctuary of the Oakland Presbyterian church at
Springfield for the 1:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, June 24. The organist
was Mrs. Charles Lockwood. The bride was given in marriage by her father
and wore a formal gown designed with the "total look", the Venise lace
bodice having sleeves of matching lace, fitted to the top and flowing into a
bubble at the lower part of the sleeve. The redingote skirt was framed by
a Venise band, and the lace bordered mantilla which was highlighted by a little
cap of Venise lace. She carried a cascade of white sweetheart roses,
stephanotis, and baby's breath, centered with a white orchid with a lavender
throat. The maid of honor was Nancy Crouch of Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Pat Kusner
of Rossford and Jan Bushman of Pemberville were the bridesmaids. The honor
attendant wore a formal gown of yellow chiffon printed with tiny flowers and
featuring an empire waist and square neckline. The bridesmaids were
dressed identically, but in pink and green gowns. Their flowers were
colorful medley cascades of sweetheart roses, daisies and baby's breath.
Gary Packer of Dayton was the best man. Serving as ushers were Ken Oates
of Springfield and Mark Hoffman of Bellbrook. Mrs. Suerdieck wore a blue
polyester crepe dress with lace trim and matching accessories for her daughter's
wedding. Her corsage was of double pink cymbidium orchids. The
mother of the groom wore an aqua polyester coat and dress ensemble with matching
accessories and a corsage of double yellow cymbidium orchids. A reception
was held, following the ceremony, in the church social rooms. Hostesses
were Darline Marchal of Fort Loramie and Cathy Forster of Youngstown. The
bride is a graduate of Walter E. Stebbins high school and graduated from Bowling
Green state university. She is to begin a dietetic internship in September
at Miami Valley hospital in Dayton. The groom, a graduate of Springfield
South high school and Bowling Green state university, will begin teaching at
Northmont high school this fall. The couple took a wedding trip to Niagara
Falls and Washington, D.C. Out-of-town guests for the wedding the
grandmother of the groom, Mrs. Robert Fitzgibbon of Hollywood, Florida; Mr. and
Mrs. Steven Hill of Midland, Michigan; Barry Wegman of Toledo; Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Green of Maumee; Mrs. Ruth Fishman and daughters of Columbus; Mr. and
Mrs. Terry Holdcraft of Middletown; and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walsh of Lebanon.

STUPP, PAUL FREDERICK - Mr. and Mrs. Paul Frederick Stupp,
(Dixie Karen Trueblood) are at home at 19 S. First street in Tipp City after a
short wedding trip. Their wedding was an event of Saturday, June 3 at 2:30
p.m. with the Reverend Harry T. Sinks of Potsdam officiating. Setting for
the wedding was the lawn at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don
Trueblood, 417 N. Church street, New Carlisle. Mrs. Elise Stupp of
Springfield is the mother of the groom. The bride is also the
granddaughter of Mrs. Blanche Jones of Tipp City and of Mr. and Mrs. E. D.
Trueblood of Bethel township. Mrs. Terry Davis of Springfield was the
matron of honor, and Lamar Ridgeway, also of Springfield, was the best man.
Kace Trueblood, brother of the bride, performed the duties of ring bearer.
Immediately following the out-door wedding, a reception for over fifty guests
was held in the home of the bride's parents. Hostesses were Mrs. Peggy
Ridgeway, Mrs. Donna Craig and Mrs. Irma Crose. The bride is a
graduate of Tecumseh high school and was employed at the Springfield Aluminum
company. The groom graduated from North high school at Springfield and
attended Wittenberg university.
