EMRICK, ALONZO A. (BERT) - Away down in Bethel Township on the summit of a beautiful knoll, stands the cheerful and imposing home of Hon. S. Sullivan. This house was the central attraction of many relatives and friends, on the eve of the 24th inst. to witness the marriage of his youngest daughter, Miss Allie, to Mr. Bert Emrick, of Wayne Tp., Montgomery County, O. The ceremony was pronounced at half past four o'clock by Rev. J. M. LeFevre, of Fairfield, O. , after which all present were invited to the nuptial feast; and such a feast! We cannot describe it. Suffice it to say the guests, after a hearty and continued attack, retired from the contest leaving bounties of turkey and sweetmeats, to claim the victory. After the feast the bride and bridegroom, received the hearty congratulations of all present, and the evening was spent in mirth and song. The bride received several valuable presents, among which was a handsome gold watch and chain, from her father. Prominent among the guests present were Theo. Sullivan and family, of Troy, and Captain Walter Crook and wife, of Tadmor. On the whole, the occasion was a pleasant and delightful one, and long to be remembered by all present. ZIEGENFELDER, CHARLES F. - The Cincinnati Enquirer of last Sunday contained the following account of the marriage, of Mr. Charles F. Ziegenfelder, of Troy, to Miss Alice Zischler, of Springfield. One of the prettiest affairs of this our young season took place at the residence of Mr. A. Smith, of West Court Street, last Wednesday evening, the occasion being the nuptials of the accomplished Miss Alice Zischler, of Springfield, niece of Mr. Smith to the well-known Troy merchant, Mr. Charles F. Ziegenfelder. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Studebaker, of Bucyrus, Ohio, an old friend of the bride and the remarks to the happy couple were very impressive. Mr. Smith gave the bride away. The attendants to both the bride and groom were the next relatives, and playmates of yore. Mr. George A. Smith, as best man to the groom; Miss Clara Smith, with Mr. Edward Lupfer, as first couple; and Miss Estella Ziegenfelder, with Mr. Edward F. Smith, as second couple, added greatly to the scene. The display of dresses and jewels on the occasion was superb. Miss Zischler, the bride, was beautifully attired in white silk and satin, trimmed with genuine lace and fringe, her hair being adorned with customary orange blossoms, and rich, natural flowers. Miss Clara Smith wore a magnificent dress of blue Tamsie cloth, en train, trimmed with pink silk and natural flowers. Miss Estella Ziegenfelder, the charming sister of the groom, was superbly attired in white tarlatan, trimmed with lace and natural flowers. The guests, who were numerous, were welcomed by Mrs. Smith assisted by her accomplished daughter, Miss Emma, who was very handsomely gotten up for the occasion in a dress of Chinese crepe and a very rich woolen fabric, trimmed with cardinal and cream-colored ribbons. Among the many guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ziegenfelder, the venerable parents of the groom; Mr. Steil and wife; Mr. Gates and wife; Mr. Kauffman, all of Troy. From Springfield, Mr. Schulte and wife and Mr. Lenty and wife. From this city, Mrs. I. David, of Everett Street; Mrs. O. Curtis; Mrs. Kate Orton; and others too numerous to mention. Among the married ladies, heavy black silks predominated. The house throughout resembled a hot-house of tropical flowers and plants, arranged very tastefully, and forming a charming relief for the eyes, dazzled by the beauties of pretty women, jewels, and rich dress. After an elegant repast, set by mine host Schmidt, the well-known caterer, the party enjoyed themselves until the wee small hours took the happy couple away from them to enjoy their honeymoon among the sights of Yankeedom. May their life be as pleasant through out as the evening of their wedding. The presents showered upon the happy couple were numerous and very costly--indeed to numerous to mention. Charlie and his bride are now East on a honeymoon trip and will return in a week or two and begin housekeeping in Troy.
