COUNTS, CLARA - On Wednesday evening last, at the residence of the bride's mother, in Staunton township, by Elder J. P. Watson, Mr. Andrew G. Deweese to Miss Clara Counts, eldest daughter of the late J. F. Counts, of this vicinity.  On the evening succeeding the above event our much esteemed friends, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Deweese--father and mother of the bridegroom--gave a grand reception at their new residence a mile and a half north of this town, which was attended by at least two hundred from Piqua, Troy, and the intermediate and surrounding country.  We had the pleasure of participating in the festivities and enjoyments of the occasion, and can truly say that we have seldom seen so much cordial, heartfelt enjoyment manifested.  Every guest was greeted with a hearty welcome by the kind and hospitable host and hostess, and all felt completely "at home" while there.  To Mr. and Mrs. Deweese and family and to the handsome young couple who have just entered into a life-partnership, we tender our kindest regards for the present, and our best wishes for the future.  January 31, 1874 (MU)

Thackara and Miss Eliza S. , daughter of Davis Green, Esq., of this county.  The nuptials were a grand affair, and were witnessed by over a hundred invited guests.  Mr. J. W. THACKARA, ALONZO J. - At the residence of the bride's father, a few miles east of Troy, on Wednesday afternoon last, by Rev. Mr. Weddell, Mr. Alonzo J. Thackara and Miss Eliza S., daughter of Davis Green, Esq., of this county.  The nuptials were a grand affair, and were witnessed by over a hundred invited guests.  Mr. J. W. Boggs, of Ill., Miss Mary Maupin, of West Va., Mr. C. Barnes and Miss Lou Ripley, of Ind., were attendants at the ceremony.  The newly married couple left for an Eastern tour, intending to visit the cities of Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore and Washington.  They carry with them the congratulations of many friends, and the best wishes for a long and happy life together.  September 19, 1874 (MU)
