Young, Esq., Cashier of Piqua National Bank.  The above named was doubtless the most magnificent wedding that has ever taken place in Miami county.  The bride-groom being wealthy, and the bride the only child of wealthy parents, no expense was spared in making the occasion one of unusual splendor.  The value of the presents to the bride in silverware alone is estimated at more than six thousand dollars.  We saw these presents the day before the wedding, and can truly say that they are among the most rich, tasteful and superb articles of the kind we have ever seen.  We know nothing personally of the bride-groom, but trust he is worthy so amiable and lovely a girl as we know the bride to be.  November 2, 1867 (MU)
