DICKEY, SAMUEL A. - On Thursday afternoon, by A. L. McKinney, at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. Samuel A. Dickey of Dayton, and Miss Sallie S., oldest daughter of Mr. Lewis Hayner of this town.  The custom of making bridal presents was very fully and liberally endorsed in this case, the fair bride being the recipient of a large number of beautiful and valuable ones.  On invitation of our friend Hayner, we called in at his residence yesterday and looked over those which were still there, and a finer array of beautiful articles we have seldom seen anywhere.  Pitchers and goblets, castors, trays, spoons, and various other beautiful and useful articles were there in great profusion, and among others, a most beautiful and substantial copy of the Bible--one of the richest and handsomest we have ever seen.  That the fair bride is held in high esteem by her friends, is fully evidenced by "these presents:" and the sincere wish of the writer of this notice is that she may always be surrounded by such friends, and that her voyage of life may be a calm, peaceful and beautiful one—realizing to the fullest extent, her fondest anticipations.  October 14, 1865  (MU)

HAYNER, SALLIE (Sarah) E. That the fair bride is held in high esteem by her friends, is fully evidenced by "these presents;" and the sincere wish of the writer of this notice is that she may always be surrounded by such friends, and that her voyage of life may be a calm, peaceful and beautiful one--realizing to the fullest extent, her fondest anticipations.  October 14, 1865 (MU)
