On Sunday, October 31, 1830, a young child of Sylvanus Allen, the new post-master, died from the choking on a bean. Geo. White, Sr., who visited the office that day learned of it and reported the accident. Esther H. Anderson mentioned it in her letter of Nov. 1 to her brother in Bucks Co., Pennsylvania, in 1830.
