TROY - Darlene Stager, 73, of Troy
passed away at 3:40 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Troy Care and Rehabilitation
Center. She was born on July 9, 1938, in Greenup, Ky., to the late Andy and
Dorothy (Elliott) Hamilton. Darlene was married on June 23, 1961, to Jerry L.
Stager, who preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2009.
She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Ray Stager of Troy, John
and Melissa Stager of Troy; four grandchildren, Jessica Stager, Sara Bateman,
Samuel and Alexander Stager; three great-grandchildren, Skai Slatter, Madison
Moses, and EmaLee Bateman; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Warren
Champlin of Clearwater, Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Karen
Hamilton of Troy. In addition to her parents and husband, she also is preceded
in death by one sister, Clotene Stires. Darlene retired from SpringMeade
Healthcare Center, Troy as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2001.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Fisher-Cheney Funeral
Home, Troy, with the Rev. Ed Ellis officiating. A visitation will be from 10
a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at
Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Condolences may be expressed to the family at
