PEFFLY, JANET M. - Janet May Peffly, 66, of Laura, died Friday, July 9, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton after losing her battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 2, 1943 in Miamisburg. She graduated from West Carrollton High School as a member of the National Honor Society and retired from National City Bank after more than 24 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Sarah (Spoonemore) Hisey. Janet is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jacob Lloyd Peffly; son, Derek Peffly and friend Deniece of Mineral Springs, Pa.; daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Steve Holmes of Port Orange, Fla,, Denise and Clay Robbins of Tipp City, Darlene Peffly of Union, Sandy and Tony Ashley of Englewood; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Carol Hisey of Ansonia, many nieces and nephews and special uncle, Harvey and Louise Spoonemore of New Lebanon. Funeral services were held July 14 at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West Milton, with Rev. Robert Kurtz officiating. Burial followed at Unity Cemetery.
