NIHIZER, RUTH MURRAY (NEE: PEFFLY) - Ruth (Peffly) Murray
Nihizer, 85, formerly of Englewood, died on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at Good
Samaritan Hospital. She was born on Dec. 26, 1924, in Randolph Township.
She graduated from Bethel College and Miami University, taught at Bethel
College and retired from Troy Schools as a fourth grade teacher. She was a
member of Phillipsburg Missionary Church. She was preceded in death by her
parents, Herman and Minnie (Burges) Peffly; husbands, Russell Murray and
Lowell Nihizer; step-son, John Nihizer; and one sister, Marie. She is
survived by her step children, Jim and Margaret Egan, Beverly and Paul
Baker, Dick and Betty Nihizer, Ruth and LeRoy Sowers, Lowell Ray and Carlene
Nihizer and Jim and Beverly Murray; several step grandchildren and step
great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Gladys and Ray Wertz; and
special nephew Bob Wertz and wife Kaye. Services were held Dec. 31 at the
Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West Milton, with pastor Robert Kurtz
officiating. Burial was in Minnich Cemetery.
