CECIL, ROLAND E. - Roland E. Cecil, 75 of Troy, died Dec. 31, 2008 at his residence. He was born Feb. 16, 1933 in Pleasant Hill to Harry Forrest and Pauline L. (Petersime) Cecil. Roland retired from Goodrich in Troy; was a member of the Ginghamsburg, Church, former board member of Partner in Hope, and CASA/GAL, of Miami County. He was a mentor at the David L. Brown Youth Center in Troy. Surviving are his wife Beverly Ann (Harshbarger) Cecil; son, James E. "Skip" Cecil, Centre, Ala.; Terry L. Cecil, Fletcher; brother, Harry L. Cecil, Conover; sisters, Barbara A. Rich, Phoenix, Ariz., Janet L. Plank, Burlington, N.C.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his favorite buddy "Sammy". Services were held Jan 5 at the South Campus of Ginghamsburg Church with Pastor John Jung officiating and burial in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. Contributions may be made to the David L. Brown Youth Center or Hospice of Miami County in Roland's memory.
