SMITH, DON B. - Don B. Smith, 85 of Tipp City died Jan. 2, 2009 at Harborside Health Care Center, Troy.　He was born July 14, 1923 in Monroe Township to Rolla and Opha (Besom) Smith. He was a World War II veteran in the Merchant Marines-Coast Guard and was a retired salesman of commercial sewing machines.　He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bertha "Birdie" Smith; brother-in-law, George Kinnison; nephews, Mark Smith and Peter Kinnison and special friend Garda Gordon.　Don is survived by his brother Ted Smith, Tipp City; sisters, Clarette Smith, Phyllis Kinnison, and Ann Smith all of Tipp City; step daughter, Geraldine Simpson, Connecticut; grandson, Benjamin and wife Ami Simpson, New York; granddaughter, Lauren Simpson, Maine; great-grandson, Reuben Simpson.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.　Service entrusted to Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, Tipp City.　 b
