THOMPSON, BETTY J. (NEE: BROWNING) - Betty J. Thompson, 74, of Tipp City, died March 3, 2009 at her residence.  She was born February 5, 1935 in Logan Co., W. VA, daughter of the late Cecil and Rosie (Marcum) Browning.  She was preceded in death by her son Shawn, grandson Roy Allen and one brother.  She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Roy; three sons, Cecil, Tim and Fred Thompson; daughter, Cynthia Kister; three sisters, Barbara French, Carolyn Browning and Maxine Marcum; three brothers, Raymond, Virgil "Bud" and Walter Browning; six grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie, Lynette, Ashley, Betty and Stanley, six great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.  Funeral services were held March 9 at the Morton and Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia, with Pastor Dan Williams officiating   Burial followed at Maple Hill Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Betty's memory.
