BEARD, ROBERT "BOBBIE LEE" - Laura - Robert "Bobbie Lee" Beard Sr., 82, of Laura, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Covington Care Center, Covington. He was born March 1, 1926, in Union Township to the late William E. and Lova R. (Fulker) Beard. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley A. (Aldora) Bears; son, Bobbie L. Jr., and Pamela Beard of West Milton; daughter, Phyllis A. Manning of West Milton; granddaughters, Kimberly L. Swartz, Kristina L. Beard and Katelyn S. Beard; grandsons Kevin L. Swartz, David M. Manning and Jim Manning Jr.; great-grandson, Noah J. Swartz; great-granddaughter, Kelsey N. Swartz; brother and sister-in-law, Don W. and Carloyn Beard of West Milton. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Jim E. Manning Sr.; brother Earl Milton; and sister, Charolette Belden. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Army during World War II, and was a member of Tipp City VFW. He was a mechanic, and he retired from Kimberly Clark. Funeral services were held Friday at Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West Milton.
