EHLERS, NORMAN - Piqua - Norman Ehlers, 75, formerly of Piqua, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at 8:45 p.m. at Georgetown Veterans Home, Georgetown, Ohio.  He was born Sept. 5, 1932, in Dayton to the late Richard and Vesta (Routson) Ehlers.  He married Rebecca Osborne Oct. 30, 1985; and she survives.  Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Tim Bartee of Sidney and Cherie and Mark Ellis of Troy, Ill.; one son, Randall S. Allen of Sidney; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and John Horn of Vandalia; one sister-in-law, Gayle Ehlers of Lavonia, Ga.; five grandchildren, Amber and Derek Chambers of Wapakoneta, Christa, Cala and T. J. Bartee of Sidney and Darien of Troy, Ill.; one great-grandson, Leyton Chambers of Wapakoneta; and several nieces and nephews.  Ehlers was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ehlers.  Ehlers graduated from West Milton High School in 1950 and attended Ohio State University for two years before entering the U. S. Army and serving his country in the Korean War.  He was a member of the Full Gospel Community Church, Sidney.  Norman was a pilot for many years and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association and The R. C. Hawks Flying Club in Troy.  He was a founding member of the Buckeye Fliers Club in Columbus, and was an avid glider pilot for many years.  Ehlers was an aeronautical engineer for 32 years at Hartzell Propeller Corp. in Piqua.  Funeral services were held this morning at the Full Gospel Community Church, Sidney, with the Rev. Charlie Jarrett officiating.  Burial followed in Highland Cemetery, Covington, with full military honors by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Full Gospel Community Church, 950 S.
