BOWERS, LOUISE A. (HARRISS) - Louise A. (Harriss) Bowers, 92, of Englewood died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Amanda (Dearth) Harriss. Louise was a lifelong resident of the Englewood area and worked for Sears as a seamstress and custom drapery designer. She was a member of Stillwater Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Trotwood since 1938. She is survived by her daughter, Edna "Ruth" Jeffery of West Milton; sisters, Esther Woolery of Wyoming, Susan Schwalbauch of Maryland; brother, Walter Harriss of Arizona; grandchildren and spouses, Rick and Jennie Jeffery of Florida, Teresa and Jim Adkins of West Milton and Melinda Jeffery of Russia: 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bowers in 1958; parents; sisters, Mildred Fisher, Lena Piatt, Gertha Verble, Ella Wright, Ada Geiger and Florence Harshbarger. Services were held Dec. 18 at Stillwater Old German Baptist Brethren Meeting House. Interment was in Stillwater Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Kindred Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
