SHADE, JAMES ELDON - James Eldon Shade, 83, of West Milton, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 at his home.  He was born September 28, 1924 in Piqua.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivor and Mary Shade; sister, Betty Peacock; brother, Donald Shade.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shelia (Brumbaugh); four daughters and sons-in-law; Tanya and Joe Andrasik of Union, Pamela and Dennis Cory of Hamburg, Germany, Diania and David Brierly of Goodlettsville, Tenn., and Debra and Norman Hiester of West Milton and one son and daughter-in-law, James Douglas and Wanda Shade of Clayton; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  He was a veteran of World War II serving with the 8th Army Air Force, Bomb Squad 486.  He graduated from Covington High School and Cincinnati School of Embalming.  He worked as a Mortician for Ross Memorial Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill; Shade Furniture Store and retired from Lazarus Dept. Store at the Salem Mall.  He was an active member of Hoffman United Methodist Church, the Emmaus Community of Greater Dayton, and the American Red Cross.  He had been an active member of the West Milton Fire Dept., West Milton City Council and Union Township Trustee.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hoffman United Methodist Church (Activity Center), Hospice of Miami County, Red Cross of Miami County or Union Township Life Squad, P.O. Box 66, West Milton, OH 45383.  Visitation will be today from 4-8 p.m. at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home in West Milton.  Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 10 at 10 a.m. at Hoffman United Methodist Church, 201 S. Main St., West Milton.
