KELLY, JACK E.
- Jack E. Kelly, age 81 of West Milton
passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at the Upper Valley Medical
Center, Troy. He was born August 1, 1926 in West Milton. He was preceded
in death by his parents Duanne & Susan (Gnagey) Kelly, brothers James, Jerry
Lee & JD Kelly. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Hissong) Kelly, sons &
daughters-in-law Michael & Jeannie Kelly, Kettering, Patrick & Kathy Kelly,
Troy, daughter & son-in-law Susie & Greg Chaney, Troy; grandchildren Kelly &
Troy Hahn, Katie & Ben Rogers, Jodie, Megan, Bowen & Nikki; sisters &
brothers-in-law Jean & Jim Truitt, West Milton, JoAnn & Leon Rhodes,
McVettown, PA. Jack was a U.S. Merchant Marine Veteran of WWII enlisting
directly after graduating from Milton-Union in 1944. He was employed for 45
years as a foreman at National Cash Register, retiring in 1987. He was a
Fire Chief of Ludlow Falls Fire Department for many years, was responsible
for starting the Ludlow Falls Lighting of the falls as leader of the Boy
Scouts, coached little league baseball many years when his sons were young,
loved all sports especially football, hunting, fishing & the outdoors,
served on Lowry Field Complex committee, member of Masonic Lodge #577 F &
AM, American Legion Post #487 & served his wife of 60 years, his children &
grandchildren were the most important part of his life. He will be
remembered as a wonderful husband, father & grandfather. Funeral services
were held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home.
Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. Friends may call on
Friday from 4-8 P.M. at Hale-Sarver. Military services will be held at the
cemetery. If so desired, in lieu of flowers in this season of giving, the
family asks that you do a kind deed for someone, or contributions can be
made to the Lowry Field Complex.
