KOOGLER, EDWARD - Edward Koogler, 80, of Tipp City, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 after a lengthy illness.  He is survived by his former wife, Patricia, his loving and caring daughter, Valerie (Dick) and his son-in-law, Daniel of Tipp City, his three loving grandchildren, Andrew Trick of Columbus, Tara Judge and her husband David, and Kevin Trick of Tipp City, his loving sister, Betty Cyphers of Dayton, and his two nieces, Marsha Cyphers and Mary Delaney and her husband, Harold and their daughter, Amanda.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon Edward and Edna Marie, and brother Paul Eugene Koogler.  He served his country dutifully during World War II in the USAAF 867TH postal unit in St. Lucia.  He was a softball pioneer in the Dayton area, playing organized ASA softball for over 40 years, managing a team sponsored by Smedleys Chevrolet for 16 years.  His #1 team was the Cincinnati Reds.  He retired from Chrysler Airtemp in 1980 after 31 years of loyal service and immediately took up the garage sale and flea market scene.  Koogler was a lifelong Tipp City resident and member of the American Legion.  He is sadly missed by his fellow vendors at the Powell Road Flea Market in Huber Heights.  Appreciation is expressed for all of the support Valerie received from the 7S staff at Miami Valley Hospital.  A special thanks to the Hospice staff, especially Kyna, Dana, Whisty, and Nancy.  Edward wished his body be donated to the Anatomical Gift Program, Boonshoft School of Medicine, Wright State University.  Private services.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made in Edwards name to the Senior Independence Hospice, 6520 Poe Road, Suite 100, Dayton, Ohio 45414.  Condolences may be sent to the family at 619 Wingrove Court, Tipp City, Ohio 45371.
