TINNERMAN, ROBERT - Robert Tinnerman, 93, of West Milton,
passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006. He was born Oct. 10, 1912 in St.
Mary's. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred George and Helen
Henrietta (Stockwell) Tinnerman; an infant son, George Owen; a sister, Ruth
Sunderland; and great-granddaughter, Brittanie Cecil. Survivors include his
wife of 68 and one-half years, Ruth (Cisco) Tinnerman; son and
daughter-in-law, Charles (Chuck) and Linda Tinnerman of Troy; daughters and
sons-in-law, Barbara and Robert Cecil of West Milton and Donna and Dick
Plunkett of West Milton; grandchildren, Deanna, David, Daniel, Julie, Amy,
Jason, Tina, Todd, and Shawna; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was always
there for his children and grandchildren. He supported them to the
fullest. Bob and his wife Ruth taught ballroom dancing lessons for more
than 40 years. Their friends even named a dance group after them -
Tinnerman Dance Fans (TDG). People loved to be around them. He was
formerly employed at Aero Products and was a retired toolmaker. He was a
former West Milton village council member and served the community in many
ways throughout his life. At the age of 93, Bob was still actively employed
as a funeral director assistant at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West
Milton. He was a loyal and dedicated worker for more than 36 years. Bob
was a charter member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Milton,
where he served faithfully on many church boards. He and Ruth helped to
organize the church in 1959. He rarely missed a Sunday of worship. His
belief in God was apparent in the way he lived and in everything he did.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church, 1209 S. Miami St., West Milton, with the Rev. John Johansen, the
Rev. Richard Gilbertson and the Rev. Brian Peterson officiating. Burial
will follow at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. Friends may call from 3-6
p.m. Wednesday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Elks and Masonic Lodge
services will be held prior to services Thursday. If so desired,
contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Building Fund or
to Hospice of Miami County. Arrangements are being handled by Hale-Sarver
Funeral Home, West Milton.
