SMITH, WILLIAM H. - William H. Smith, a member of First
Baptist Church of Covington, died Nov. 10 at his Troy home. He was 77. Mr.
Smith retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation after 30 years in
road maintenance. He also retired from the Troy Daily News as a
rural paper carrier. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Letha (Eggers)
Smith of Troy; daughter, Judy Vance of Piqua, Patsy Gambill of Lena, and
Donita Zechar and Robin Meiring, both of Troy; son, Martin Blechinger of
Lakeview; sisters, Joann Lear, Ruth Stotler and Esther Fitzpatrick; brother,
Larry Smith of St. Paris; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 13 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with burial in Miami
Memorial Park, Covington. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Miami County,
