ALGREN, RUSSELL T., SR. - age 83, of New Carlisle, OH died Saturday, May 21, 1994 at 2:53 P.M. in Belle Manor Nursing home, New Carlisle. He was born April 15, 1911 in Culpepper, VA the son of Fred and Ida (Ferry) Algren Sr. He was a New Carlisle area resident most of his life, farmer and mechanic for Southern Hills Construction Co., member Local #18 Operating Engineers and member of Asbury United Methodist Church, North Hampton. Survived by six sons and daughters-in-law, Russell Theodore and Kathleen Algren, Jr., Thomas Wayne and Debby Algren, Talmadge Wesley and Martha Algren, all of New Carlisle, Terrance Porter and Milva Algren of Atlanta, Georgia, Truman Lewis and Karen Algren of Springfield, OH, John Travis MD and Christine Algren of Bellaire, Texas; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Weinland of Huber Heights, OH. Preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn M. Algren, Jan. 7, 1994; two brothers, Fred Algren Jr., William M. Algren; and sister, Margaret Rees. Services will be held Wednesday, May 24, 1994 at 10:00 A.M. in the Trostel, Chapman & Christmas Funeral Home, New Carlisle, OH with Rev. L. Stephen Hayes officiating. Burial in New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 4-8 P.M. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, North Hampton.
