PAYNE, JOHN R. - John R. Payne, 60, 282 N. Sixth St., Tipp
City, died Sunday at his residence. Surviving are his wife, Agnes Hines
Payne; six children, John L. Payne Jr. of Troy, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Arnett
of Tipp City, Karen England of Troy, Mrs. David (Linda) Hicks of Tipp City,
Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Lambert of Laura and Shirley Payne of Tipp City; two
sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Payne of Cincinnati and Mrs. Everett (Theodora) Poling
of Florida; and nine grandchildren. Mr. Payne was a veteran of World War
II, a member of the V. F. W. Post in Tipp City, the Eagles in Piqua and had
been employed for 29 years as a machinist at A. O. Smith. Services will be
Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Frings & Bayliff Funeral Home, Tipp City, the
Rev. Verl Light officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery,
Vandalia. There will be an Eagle Service at 8 p.m. Tuesday and Military
graveside services by the Frank Robinson Post of the American Legion No.
