BUTCHER, WILFORD D. - Wilford D. Butcher, 79, 394 Granville
Street, Newark, father of Mrs. Stewart (Mary Jean) King, Tipp, died early
February 14 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. A native of Licking
County, he was the son of Rowland and Ida Davis Butcher and was married to
Pearl McClurg, who survives. He was a retired city letter carrier. A U. S.
Army World War I veteran, he was a member of Brushy Fork Methodist Church,
VFW Post 1060 and World War I Veteran Barracks 936. Besides the widow and
daughter, Mrs. King, survivors are another daughter, Mrs. Lester (Frances)
Catt of Coshocton; a brother, Roger J. Butcher, Tecumseh, Mich., and five
grandchildren. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. February 16 at Criss
Brothers Funeral Home in Newark with the Rev. D. E. Cass in charge. Burial
was in Wilson Cemetery, Newark.
