PARSONS, JOHN C. - John C. Parsons, age 81 of 115 E. Walnut
Street, died at 11 p.m. on Monday evening. Mr. Parsons died at Brown
Hospital in Dayton where he had been a patient for over a year. He was born
in Phoneton on March 6, 1893, the son of George Truman and Matilda Belle
Heffner Parsons. He was a veteran of WWI and a retired employee of Aero
Products, formerly located in Vandalia. Survivors include his wife Ruth
Leopard Parson; a son, John David Parsons of Springfield, brother Ray
Parsons of Tipp City; sister, Mrs. J. B. (Daisy) Snell of Troy; and eight
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Mrs. Maribel Stiles,
one brother Guy, and a sister Harriett preceded him in death. He was a
member of the IOOF and Masonic Lodges of Tipp City and the Troy American
Legion Post. Services will be conducted from the Frings and Bayliff Funeral
Home at 2 p.m. on Thursday with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. The Rev. E.
L. Parrish will officiate. Military services will be conducted at
graveside. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. on
Wednesday.
