Samuel Cruikshank, 74, died at 4:30 o'clock this morning at his residence,
corner of McKinley avenue and Edge street, where he had been ill for two weeks.
Born in Troy, October 21, 1867, he was the son of William and Elizabeth Dutcher
Cruikshank. He was a member of the Jr. Order and of the United Brethren church.
His wife, Mrs. Viola Cruikshank, whom he married August 20, 1891, preceded him
in death.
He leaves three sons, Leonard of Piqua, Forest and Jesse Cruikshank of Troy; two
daughters, Mrs. Stella Hergenrather and Mrs. Martha Nisqonger, both of Piqua; a
sister, Mrs. Letta Shephard of Piqua; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The Rev. Ira Clark will officiate at services Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at
the residence. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery.
The body was removed to the J. C. Cron and Sons Funeral Home and will be taken
to the residence Sunday morning when friends may call until time for the
funeral.
