Sarah Rieber

On the twenty-fourth day of February, 1856, in the village of Pleasant Hill, Sarah Deeter was born to bless the union of Fred and Emily Ripple Deeter, and on Tuesday, October 8th, she heard the summons of her Master at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 14 days.

On February 28th, 1878 she was united in marriage to William Rieber and to this union two children were given, a son and a daughter, Fred and Emma.

When a young woman, yet in her teens, she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Brethren Church to which she has continued faithful unto death.

On the 2nd day of June 1924, she was stricken with paralysis and for more than five years has been in a helpless condition.

Besides her faithful husband who ministered to her needs through the long years of her affliction, she leaves her children Fred, of Dayton, and Emma Tucker of Covington; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren to mourn her departure. Also three sisters, Dora Coate, of Detroit, and Mina Coate and Nellie Gibson, of Troy, together with many other relatives and friends who will miss her.

"Neither shall there be any more pain-for former things she passed away. And I heard a voice from Heaven saying unto me write "blessed are they which die in the Lord, and their works do follow them."
