Capt. Henry O. Weaver

Word was received here Saturday evening that Capt. Henry O. Weaver, of Co. A., 3d  Reg't O. V. I., had died in a hospital at Ft. Thomas. Capt. Weaver was stricken with malarial fever at Tampa, and from there was taken to the hospital. The remains were brought here Sunday night and Monday afternoon at three o'clock the funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church. Quite a large concourse of people came to hear Rev. W. D. Samuels' address on this, the first of Covington's dead in the Spanish American War. Langston Post G. A. R., Ladies Aid Society and Col. J. C. Ullery Camp S. of V. attending in a body. Henry O. Weaver was in the 41st year of his age. He had but recently been appointed Captain of Co. A, but in this brief time has proven himself worthy of the trust imposed in him and was loved and respected by his command.
